Water in Fuel (WIF) Sensor for the GM Duramax engines from 2001-Present. This is the part that threads into the bottom of the fuel filter and plugs into the wiring harness. Most people buy a Wif wrench for removing and tightening these without damaging them. They are known to go bad at times but are easy to replace and will last much longer when using a WIF Sensor wrench.
